Well, I’ve been waiting for more than a year to be able to announce this project, and I finally can do so: I’ve been helping to cocreate an upcoming official role-playing game based on the Planet of the Apes franchise, to be published by Magnetic Press.
Though I’m a non-gamer, I’ve been on the team of authors writing text for the game’s sourcebooks, while the fine folks at Magnetic have been handling the gameplay, statistics, and other things outside my specialty area. (See the official website, which unfortunately doesn’t credit those of us who wrote the game books.)
The game will launch this year and will include a variety of books cowritten by me, Dayton Ward, Greg Cox, David Avallone, David Walker, Kim Perrone, Jim Beard, Andrew E Gaska, ToniAnn Marini, Dave Semak, Eric Thomas, and others.
Throughout the past year, I wrote a lot of material for this game, and I’m excited to be returning to this franchise, especially in the company of such talented collaborators. I’ll post more information as I’m allowed, but in the meantime, here’s an article discussing it.
